Tessari joins the Cobras after her 2018 debut season in the SEABL league with the Bendigo Braves, where she averaged 11.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
However, the Monegeeta native made a name for herself by leading the league in three-pointers made with 70 throughout the season, an average of 2.3 per game.
"I'm really excited to be a Cobra for the upcoming 2019 season," Tessari told Kilsyth Basketball.
"Kilsyth is an amazing club and I'm really looking forward to be taking on this new challenge with a really exciting list that Sam (Woosnam) has put together."
Kilsyth Lady Cobras coach Woosnam said she was thrilled to have Tessari secured for the debut NBL1 season, and has tipped the point guard to make "significant strides" during the season.
“Kara is a player that has been on my radar for the past couple of seasons and I’m so happy she has made the move to Kilsyth,” Woosnam told Kilsyth Basketball.
"I'm looking forward to her leading the group from the point guard position and working with her to develop her game even further.
"I feel she will have a huge impact in the NBL1 this year."
The first match between the Braves and the Cobras will be during round three on Saturday April 3, at the Kilsyth Sports Centre.
Tessari also has years of experience playing in the WNBL with the Bendigo Spirit.
