Osborne, who entered the day with seven winners and five seconds from his last 29 starters, had cause for further celebration when My Divas took the honours in a 1200m benchmark 64 race.
The four-year-old benefited from another strong ride from Linda Meech, who had the mare in front soon after entering the straight and was able to stave off a strong challenge from the Cranbourne-trained It’s a Shame Billy.
Osborne credited the win – My Divas’ fourth in 14 career starts – to meticulous preparation and an in-form jockey, who has ridden four of the veteran trainer’s last seven winners.
“I can’t tell people enough how important walking tracks (pre-race) is and having a jockey who is on the same page as you,” he said.
“We had the scenario right, but sometimes you can turn up and it turns out the complete opposite.
“The only thing she (My Divas) didn’t have was cover, but over the 1200m it probably worked out well.
“Alluding to the fact she will probably be a miler one day, that toughness came through when she needed it.”
Osborne hinted My Divas would be aimed at some valuable mares races during the Wagga Wagga and Albury Cup carnivals.
“She has won going that way, so we will probably stretch her to 1400m or 1500m for those races,” he said.
Osborne will saddle up the promising mare Sonaisali at Stawell on Wednesday, with the four-year-old chasing a third-straight win following victories last month at Camperdown and Werribee.
