Jasmine Nevins and Tia Davidge will represent the Victorian side at the Under-15 National Championships.
Nevins has played for Victoria in the past, but for Davidge, it will be the first time with the state squad.
“I’m really proud and honoured to represent the state on a national level, it’s a really big achievement for me,” Davidge said.
Davidge first took up the sport as a junior and has fallen in love with cricket, in addition to her passion for playing football.
Davidge finds her strengths on the cricket pitch as a wicket keeper and batter.
“During the first year I played junior cricket I gave wicket keeping a go and have loved it ever since.”
Meanwhile, Nevins considers herself as an all-rounder, bowling at a medium pace.
“This tournament will be one of the biggest I’ve ever played in,” Nevins said.
“I’m really excited and happy to be part of it.”
Both Nevins and Davidge endeavour to compete at their highest level at the nationals, thanks to inspiration from Tayla Vlaeminck.
“Tayla is definitely a role model and mentor figure,” Nevins said.
Play commences at the Under-15 National Cricket Championships on Wednesday.
