A 50-SHOT hiding doesn't make pretty reading for Bendigo, but stalwart Geoff Briggs says the side was still able to take positives from its BBD pennant hiding against Bendigo East last week.
Bendigo was belted 117-67 by the Beasties, yet the side was buoyed by the performances of its rinks skippered by Mitch Hocking and Lawrence Brooks.
Hocking (+3) and Brooks (+1) were both winning skippers for Bendigo.
The problem for Bendigo, though, was the rinks of Andrew Brown (-26) and Damian Broderick (-28) were both helpless to halt the dominance of East's Lee Schraner and Brad Marron.
"The thing about last week was we had two rinks up and they were both young skippers, so that was really positive," Briggs said on Friday.
"Obviously, the other two rinks copped a pair of hidings off two very talented opposition rinks, but we're feeling confident we can get back on track this week.
"We had a good night at training on Thursday and we've got the chance on Saturday to secure a spot in the finals, so we're looking forward to it."
Bendigo remains third, despite back-to-back losses by a combined 87 shots. Its opponent on Saturday, Golden Square, has lost six in a row and has slipped to last.
