BEARS Lagoon-Serpentine has a shortage of under-18 players as the Loddon Valley league season approaches.
The Bears have appointed Lachlan Murley as their under-18 coach for the 2019 season, but the club desperately needs to increase its playing numbers.
"We've only got 10 or so under-18 players at this stage, so we need to get at least half-a-dozen more," Bears president Anthony Holland said on Friday.
"We've had quite a few players go up out of the under-18s this year, so that's the reason why we're struggling for numbers."
The Bears' under-18s are training at Maiden Gully's Marist College on a Monday and Wednesday night.
Any prospective under-18 players interested in playing for the club can contact Holland on 0428 550 611 or Murley on 0437 018 707.
The 2019 LVFNL season begins on Saturday, April 6.
The Bears have the bye in the opening round. Their first game will be a home match against Inglewood on Saturday, April 13.
Meanwhile, the Bears' senior team will again be coached by Greg Gadsden, who is at the helm for the fourth season in a row.
