For Ebony Merlo, 14, it will be her first time at the tournament.
Merlo has only been with the club for a few months, but during that short time frame she has excelled in refining her technique.
"I've always enjoyed paddling as a sport...I took it up for leisure first before I started competing, and I just fell in love with it," Merlo said.
"Sprint marathons are my favourite. I like to go fast.
"When you're competing in sprints there's a lot of pressure, you need to move fast and focus on technique."
BCC coach Maddie Batters has been working with the paddlers in the lead-up to the Championships.
"Their progression has been great. Paddling can be very hard to master as you need to learn how to balance yourself in the boat," Batters said.
"It's very technique focused, they've all done very well to get to where they are."
The squad trains together under the eye of Batters every week, with some members going above and beyond to squeeze in as many hours on the water in the lead-up to the race on Lake Nagambie.
"It takes a lot of practice - especially for sprint events - it's a different type of training where the aim is to paddle as fast as possible," Batters said.
