Scott is gearing up for his ninth season as coach of the Kangaroos and will lead a presentation on player management and relationships at Bendigo's La Trobe University on February 27.
The newly-established coaching academy is being led by Luke Monaghan, Danny O'Bree, Mark Ellis, Daniel Reid and Shane Koop and has a mission statement to "develop coaches in a quality learning environment with the aim of positively impacting the standards of all levels of football throughout the AFL Central Victoria region.”
Among those who are already confirmed to take part in the program are Darryl Wilson (three-time Strathfieldsaye and Colbinabbin premiership coach); Rick Ladson (Golden Square premiership coach); and new Sandhurst senior coach Ash Connick.
"It's fantastic we have been able to get Brad involved for the first session and shows that the academy is going to have some quality presenters," Monaghan said.
"Not only do we have Brad presenting, but also Ben Robbins, who mentors the North Melbourne leaders, will be involved in the session as well.
"It's going to be a great opportunity for our academy members to hear from Brad and Ben and share in some of their knowledge."
The session with Scott and Robbins will be the first of eight that will be presented for academy members between February and July.
"To sign up for the academy and going through the interview process the applicants have had to complete a questionnaire on what do they want to get out of it… what is their point of need and that will form the basis for the sessions," said Monaghan, who previously spent six years as Eaglehawk senior coach.
"From my point of view, managing your players and time with them, as well as your coaching group and forming those relationships was really important.
"It's also an area that Brad is really passionate about and I think having him talk about that is going to be a really good introduction session for the academy members."
