GIVEN he is the competition’s all-time leading run-scorer, it should come as no surprise that Andrew Chalkley is the Bendigo District Cricket Association’s top Twenty20 six-hitter of the past five seasons.
According to MyCricket data, Chalkley’s 25 sixes are the most in the BDCA’s Twenty20 competition over the past five years and have contributed to his overall T20 career tally of 1054 runs spread across stints with Strathdale-Maristians, Eaglehawk and Sandhurst.
Left-hander Chalkley is one of only two players to have hit at least 20 T20 sixes over the past five years.
The other is explosive White Hills’ opening batsman Brayden Stepien, who has belted 21, which included 14 during the 2017-18 season when he made 200 runs to help the Demons to their first T20 title.
Strathdale-Maristians’ Sam Johnston was the competition’s biggest six-hitter this season with nine and has a total of 19 over the past five seasons, while Bendigo marquee player James Seymour ranks fourth on the list with 15 shots that have sailed over the boundary.
MyCricket data shows there have been 492 T20 sixes hit by 125 players over the past five years.
