JAMIE Cook ran a brilliant race to win Tuesday night’s running of the Jack Davey 5000m Championship in the Tuesday Night Series hosted by Flack Advisory Bendigo Region athletics.
Cook’s dominance of the classic rolled on as he and Bendigo Harriers clubmate Peter Cowell went one-two of AB-registered athletes in another leg of the Adam Parker Electrical-backed series.
A field of 11 events lined up for championship which honours Jack Davey from Harriers who raced at the 1950 British Empire Games, now Commonwealth Games.
One of Bendigo’s finest athletes, Jack Davey narrowly missed selection for the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.
