CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
FAMILY FUN DAY
Huntly Family Fun Day is in its third year of operation, hosting more fun and more entertainment for all ages to take part in.
The day will host a range of activities such as the Meltdown challenge, mobile playzone, inflatable water slide, animal farm, music and dance and much more.
The Huntly CFA and Northern Bendigo Landcare Group will also be in attendance.
A barbecue will also be held, with prices starting at $1.
Please bring a towel and change of clothes for the water slide.

BENDIGO FAMILY HUB
Celebrate the Bendigo Family Hub with their meet and greet week.
Head into the hub, go for a tour, meet the volunteers and allow your children to have a play, while you relax.
There is also a book drive – where your children’s old books will be donated.
The week includes various activities such as storytime, book box decorating and more.
Where: The Bendigo Family Hub, 21 Cunneen Street, Long Gully.
When: Tuesday, February 5 – Thursday, February 7, 10am-2pm each day.
DADS DAY OUT
Are you a new father? Maybe you’re new to Bendigo?
This Dads Day Out is the perfect opportunity for dads to get together and celebrate being a parent
Dads can bring their children for a play at the park, have a chat with other local dads and grab a free sausage from the barbecue.
Partners are also welcome to this event.

PARENT AND TODDLER YOGA
Parent and toddler yoga classes not only help parents strengthen their body, but it also helps create patience and resilience in the studio with a toddler.
This event includes various stretches, breathing and meditation skills.
Children are also welcome to join in or to play around their parents.

COMMUNITY
MUSIC BY THE POOL
Music by the pool is back and this weekend, The Bean Project will take to the stage.
The pool carpark will be full of food trucks and vendors, allowing for you to take a spot on the grass with your mates or relax by the pool.

STAGE 29 STUDIOS
Stage 29 Studios – Simply Fabulous will be hosting their open day this weekend.
The studio has been transformed into an inviting space, welcoming everyone to check out the new facility.
Specialising in fitness and dance, the open day will showcase how ‘Simply Fabulous’ you can be.
The first term timetable is also up and running and will be available at the studio.

SNAKE PRESENTATION
Chris Page of TZR Reptiles & Wildlife will be hosting a presentation on snakes that community members are welcome to attend.
Learn more from an expert on the animal, seek advice, hear stories and find the answers to the questions you may have.
There will also be snakes on display – and if you’re brave enough, you may even get to hold one.
A general meeting of the Wildlife Rescue Information Network will be held before the presentation, at 12.30pm.

BODYnSOLE
Head down to BodynSole’s open day and have a chat about dance lessons.
There will be demonstrations, a barbecue, free dance lessons and more for all ages to enjoy.

TRIVIA FUNDRAISER
Do you enjoy music? Would you like to be in the running for a cruise?
Head along to this music trivia fundraising event.
South Bendigo athlete, Sebastyn Andrea has been invited to compete in Canada in 2019.
Sebastyn has been training in athletics since he was nine and now at 13, he has been invited to a training camp with Sports Travel Australia.
This trivia event will feature a silent auction, raffles, lucky seat prize and other fun events.
The Spudway Mobile Van will also be set up for those who would like a potato for dinner. $1 per spud sold will be donated back to the fundraiser.

SUMMER SALSA
Come and dance salsa in Bendigo's beautiful gardens. Bring a picnic and a friend and learn something new.
Classes are 30-45 minutes followed by 45-60 minutes of dancing. Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing to allow for movement.

FOOD TRUCK CARNIVAL
If you love food, a community atmosphere and entertainment, then head along to this Food Truck Carnival.
There will be a rotation of up to 30 of Australia's best food trucks, carnival rides, a licensed bar, live music, moonlight cinema and much more.

EXHIBITIONS
ENCHANTED FOREST SAND SCULPTURES
Join in on a mythical adventure with impressive sand sculptures.
This sculptures are held at the scenic (and historical) homestead, Dromkeen, which adds to the wonder of the exhibition.
Fairies, unicorns, goblins and other creatures will be waiting to show you the magic of an enchanted forest.
Some of the world’s best sand sculpting artists have come together, turning 300 tonnes of sand into a wonderland.
This exhibition also allows for people of all ages to enjoy interactive fun.

CREATIVE ZEST
A delightful exhibition of work by four artists from central Victoria, located in the historic Bendigo Visitor Centre, the Living Arts Space and the Post Office Gallery.
This exhibition features ceramics by Sarah Koschak, artworks by Lynn Twelftree, furniture by Hugh Makin and buttoncraft by Carole Grenfell.

THE LONG SUMMER SALON
Join in for the first exhibition opening event of 2019 at Cascade Art, Maldon.

RUPTURE
Central Victoria artist, Jessie Boylan, has produced a new work titled Rupture.
Rupture shows the ways in which the body, people and the world mimic each other in a crisis.
Rupture uses video and sound to illustrate some of the stressors in today’s world – from fires and floods to the relentless pace of modern life – alongside a performer’s depiction of the body’s response to trauma.

VALE: MOURNING, REMEMBRANCE AND SPIRITUALISM
This exhibition explores a subject still often regarded as taboo, yet remains a universal human experience.
Death and managing human death, as well as the associated rituals and practices, has been a part of civic life in Bendigo (and elsewhere) since the city’s earliest days.
Items such as a travelling tool case once used by Heathcote undertaker William Perry, offer a glimpse into the necessary practicalities of this profession.

FRIDA KAHLO: HER PHOTOS
Featuring photos from the extensive archive of the Casa Azul (Blue House), this exhibition showcases highlights from the personal collection of Frida Kahlo.
Frida Kahlo is considered one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century and her interests are reflected in this series of photographs of family, loves, the medical, politics and much more.
The exhibition also reveals Kahlo’s passion for collecting historical photographs as reference material for her work.

GOTHIC BEAUTY
Curated by Tansy Curtin and Jessica Bridgfoot (and a Bendigo Art Gallery exclusive), this exhibition takes a look into early Victorian rituals of mourning as early as the 1800s.
The artists featured in the exhibition include Jane Burton, Bill Henson and Janet Beckhouse. The exhibition draws on works from the gallery's historic collections, as well as loaned pieces and works from contemporary artists.
