The Castlemaine product came in at number 20 in the annual countdown with his track Waiting proving popular with listeners.
Waiting also placed at number four on the ARIA singles chart towards the end of last year.
It is a song he wrote when he was 14.
“Waiting was the first song I ever wrote. I was 14. It just happened to be released later because I was waiting right time,” Kian told the Bendigo Advertiser in August.
Aged 16, Kian was one of three under-18 performers to appear in the Hottest 100.
Fellow Aussie Ruel, aged 16, polled at 87 and 89 with his songs Younger and Dazed and Confused while US teen Billie Eilish (aged 17) had songs when the party's over, lovely and you should see me in a crown place eighth, 17th and 46th.
Kian also found success with Triple J listeners in 2018 when he was named the Triple J Unearthed High winner in August.
At age 14, Kian stepped into the spotlight with a triumphant vocal feature on Baker Boy's Cloud 9, from there he has started working on music for himself.
“From featuring on one song, I went on to find a passion for music,” he said in August. “It’s something I love to do and I really enjoy being on stage and writing.”
