EMU Creek captain Todd Brown has joined Spring Gully’s Rhys Webb as the second player in the Emu Valley Cricket Association this season to make a century and take a bag of at least five wickets.
Brown began the season with a haul of 6-28 with the ball in a win over Marong and last Sunday added a century with the bat to his 2018-19 highlights.
Brown retired on 103 in the Emus’ 57-run one-day victory over Mandurang, with the all-rounder now combining 365 runs for the season with 19 wickets from his spin.
The Emus are third on the ladder in their return to division one this season.
Meanwhile, Webb’s 165 last Saturday against West Bendigo was his third ton of the season, while he has also took a five-for (5-54) with the ball in a round three loss to Sedgwick.
Before Brown and Webb, United’s Kieran Nihill (137, 6-41, 6-23) was the most recent player in 2016-17 to make a century and take a bag of at least five wickets in an EVCA season.
