Boys and girls aged from seven and up will have the opprtunity to join the new league.
"No prior experience of the game is necessary and all new players will be assisted with the fundamentals of the game,'' BBA's Terry Smith said.
The season will start on February 6, with games to be played at Ken Wust Reserve in Quarry Hill on Wednesday evenings from 5pm.
As the season progresses games will be played in Eaglehawk and Strathfieldsaye.
"Initially there will not be any designated teams,'' Smith said.
"All players - new and old - will be divided into even, but different teams each week.
"This is a great way for new players to feel part of the action and to learn from players who have previous experience.
“Each player gets to bat multiple times in a game and modified rules at this level allow for all players to have an opportunity to hit the ball and run the bases.”
There will be two divisions - one for T-ball for under-10 players and a baseball division for players aged 11 and up.
“As Bendigo is part of Baseball Victoria’s Winter League Championships, an opportunity will exist for players to try out for a Bendigo representative team,’’ Smith said.
“The teams will represent Bendigo at the State Winter Championships at either under-14 level in June or under-12 level in July, depending upon the number and availability of players.”
