ACT/NSW Country will play Queensland in tonight’s grand final at the QEO after the Maroons proved too strong for Victoria Country in the other semi-final.
NSW Metro went into the semi-final as hot favourite after not losing a game in the preliminary rounds.
Batting had been NSW Metro’s strength, but in the semi-final it was the ACT/NSW Country bowlers that decided the game.
NSW Metro was bowled out for just 75 thanks to some great bowling from Jessica Davidson (3-10), Abby Taylor (2-6) and Anika Learoyd (2-12).
ACT/NSW Country lost five wickets in the run chase, with Learoyd (30 not out) capping a fine all-round game.
Queensland scored a four-wicket win over Victoria Country at the QEO.
Queensland dismissed Vic Country for 95, with Charli Knott taking 3-12.
Lucy Cripps top-scored for Vic Country with 28, while Lily Tassell made 22.
Bendigo duo Jasmine Nevins and Letesha Bawden scored two runs each.
Queensland’s Courtney Sippel continued her outstanding carnival by making 44 of her side’s score of 6-96.
The Queensland versus ACT/NSW Country grand final will be played at the QEO from 6.30pm.
NSW Metro and Vic Country play in the third versus fourth play-off at Weerona Oval from 2.30pm.
