TOURS
DISCOVERY AFTER DARK
Take a trip back in time and see the Discovery Centre as Bendigo’s Railway Goods Shed within the year 1862.
Learn about the history of railway in the Bendigo region.
The tour involves an intimate walkthrough of the building with local tour guide Shane Steve.

WORKSHOPS
LIVE PAINTING
Aimed at younger community members, Gannawarra Shire Council is excited to offer free live light painting workshops.
These workshops create a new way of storytelling.
Participants will learn how to create interactive paintings on an iPad, allowing works to come to life with sound and music.
The workshop aims to improve the health and wellbeing of young people within the Kerang area, whilst also developing skills.
Workshops are free and are suitable for those aged 12 years and up.

DISABILITY & CARER’S EXPO
Are you living with a disability? Are you caring for someone who is?
If so, you are encouraged to attend the Gannawarra Disability and Carers Expo.

The expo is a council initiative, aimed at linking carers and people living with a disability to a range of providers offering support and services within the area.

EVENING DANCE
Go along to a fun event this weekend and enjoy an evening dance.
The dance features music by Rod McKenzie, a good program and a delicious home cooked supper.

CRICKET COLLECTORS
Australia's biggest cricket collectors will be visiting central Victoria and are offering valuation services to people who have old items relating to cricket.

The experts will value cricket related ceramics, cards, stamps, books, photos, silverware and much more.
There will also be an opportunity to buy and sell collectables.

BABY SHOW
Baby Show Time are back in Bendigo for a day of supporting the Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia.
Babies can be entered in various divisions, such as King, Queen or the Novelty division and there will be trophies, ribbons and prizes to be won.

COFFEE WITH A COP
Do you want to meet a local police officer? Do you have questions about local policing issues?

THE LONG SUMMER SALON
Join in for the first exhibition opening event of 2019 at Cascade Art, Maldon.

RUPTURE
Central Victoria artist, Jessie Boylan, has produced a new work titled Rupture.
Rupture shows the ways in which the body, people and the world mimic each other in a crisis.
Rupture uses video and sound to illustrate some of the stressors in today’s world – from fires and floods to the relentless pace of modern life – alongside a performer’s depiction of the body’s response to trauma.

VALE: MOURNING, REMEMBRANCE AND SPIRITUALISM
This exhibition explores a subject still often regarded as taboo, yet remains a universal human experience.

Death and managing human death, as well as the associated rituals and practices, has been a part of civic life in Bendigo (and elsewhere) since the city’s earliest days.
Items such as a travelling tool case once used by Heathcote undertaker William Perry, offer a glimpse into the necessary practicalities of this profession.

FRIDA KAHLO: HER PHOTOS
Featuring photos from the extensive archive of the Casa Azul (Blue House), this exhibition showcases highlights from the personal collection of Frida Kahlo.
Frida Kahlo is considered one of the most celebrated artists of the 20th century and her interests are reflected in this series of photographs of family, loves, the medical, politics and much more.
The exhibition also reveals Kahlo’s passion for collecting historical photographs as reference material for her work.

GOTHIC BEAUTY
Curated by Tansy Curtin and Jessica Bridgfoot (and a Bendigo Art Gallery exclusive), this exhibition takes a look into early Victorian rituals of mourning as early as the 1800s.

The artists featured in the exhibition include Jane Burton, Bill Henson and Janet Beckhouse. The exhibition draws on works from the gallery's historic collections, as well as loaned pieces and works from contemporary artists.
