Brayden Stepien belted his sixth half-century of the Premier Cricket season in Carlton’s win over Dandenong.
The White Hills product made 64 off 65 balls to take his season tally to 533 runs at an average of 66.63.
The left-hander hit seven fours and two sixes in Carlton’s total of 231.
The Blues bowled Dandenong out for 206. Former Strathfieldsaye paceman Xavier Crone had figures of 0-29 off nine overs. Crone made 16 with the bat for Carlton.
Former Bendigo all-rounder James Seymour made 47 and took 2-53 with his off-spinners in Essendon’s 32-run win over Melbourne University.
Seymour has made 460 runs this season at an average of 46.
Former Sandhurst keeper/batsman Isaac Conway didn’t get bat for Essendon, but he took four catches behind the stumps. Liam Bowe didn’t play for Essendon because of BBL commitments with the Melbourne Stars.
St Kilda suffered a 22-run loss to Casey-South Melbourne.
Key St Kilda batsman Damon Egan, who played junior cricket with Sandhurst until the age of 12, made 50.
Former Sandhurst spinner Todd Murphy took 0-50 and made 11 for the Saints.
