COLBINABBIN caused a massive boilover in the Northern United Cricket Association on Saturday, inflicting the first loss of the season on Elmore.
After the Redbacks made 117 batting first at Colbinabbin the Ducks answered with 8-122 to win their third game of the season.
The game featured a half-century to Elmore opener Chris Smith (53), as well as the Colbinabbin duo of Chris Guinane (3-16) and Kane Moroney (3-4), plus the Redbacks’ Jauvane Bannon (3-12), all taking three wickets.
• Goornong produced a major form reversal with the bat to defeat Calivil.
A week after being bowled out for a mere 23 by Heathcote, the Mountain Goats bounced back with 3-114 in just 13 overs after bowling Calivil out for 99.
Calivil, which had just nine players, had one stage been 0-74 before losing 8-25.
• A 146-run partnership for the third wicket between Scott Lawry and Kyle Patten propelled Dingee to 6-239 off its 40 overs against Raywood.
Lawry made 97 and Patten 75 for the Blowflies, taking the score from 2-61 to 207.
Raywood answered with a score that would usually be a winning NUCA total, 6-171, which featured half-centuries to Jarrett Miles (63) and skipper Kale Hoggins (58).
• A six-wicket haul to captain Matt Jefferies highlighted Bagshot’s 40-run win over Heathcote.
Jefferies bagged 6-10 off 5.5 overs – including four wickets in five balls – as Heathcote was dismissed for 95 in reply to Bagshot’s 9-135.
Jefferies also contributed 44 with the bat, while Luke Bell played a lone hand of 57 n.o. for the reigning premier Saints, who had six players dismissed for two or less.
