1. BEN GUNN (Golden Square): the premier batsman in the competition boasts the season’s best batting average of 80.2, helped by scoring 325 runs in his past four innings, including a sublime 155 n.o. against Strathdale-Maristians in a one-day match.
Also playing his part with the ball, with his spin having netted 13 wickets, including a five-for against former team Strathfieldsaye.

2. TIM WOOD (Golden Square): has been a superb revival from Wood given he spent three games late last season in the seconds.
Started this season with 110 against Huntly-North Epsom and already had 280 runs on the board by the end of round four.
Wood’s capacity to get Square off to a flyer has been one of the key components to his side sitting on the top of the ladder.
Wood just edges out Sandhurst’s Joel Murphy for the second opening slot alongside Gunn.

3. JAKE KLEMM (Bendigo United): made the move from Kangaroo Flat to Harry Trott Oval during the off-season and has wasted no time making a mark with his new club, scoring almost 30 per cent of the Redbacks’ runs.
Is the competition’s leading run-scorer with 420 – 201 of which came against White Hills in round three – and has also chipped in with 10 wickets with the ball.

4. SCOTT WOODMAN (Golden Square): recovery from a back injury has restricted all-rounder Woodman to playing solely as a batsman this season.
One of only three players in the competition who has batted more than three times to be averaging above 50, with his best knock his 127 against Bendigo United.

5. MITCH WINTER-IRVING (White Hills): class all-rounder whose primary impact so far this season has been with the bat.
Is the third-highest run-scorer with 375 and has made at least 40 in six of his nine innings with a top score of 94 against Bendigo last round.

6. CAMERON TAYLOR (Strathdale-Maristians): the No.1 player in the Addy’s MVP rankings in what’s a similar season to last year.
The all-rounder has been brilliant with the ball, but will be looking to have more of an impact with the bat in the second half of the season.
Has bagged 25 wickets with his leg-spin, taking at least three scalps in five of his eight games, with a best of 7-97 against Bendigo United.

7. SAM JOHNSTON (Strathdale-Maristians): had some trouble getting over the 49 hump – he was dismissed for 49 in each of his first three innings of the season, but broke through for a half-century last round with an unbeaten 63 against Sandhurst.
Is averaging 48.4 with the bat to accompany 12 wickets – 10 of which have been top five batsmen.

8. DANUSHKA WIJEMANNA (Huntly-North Epsom): has only spent minimal time behind the stumps this season, but the Sri Lankan gets the gloves as wicket-keeper.
Is the epitome of a cricketing all-rounder. Not only is he an outstanding gloveman, but he is the Power’s leading run-scorer, which includes making three half-centuries, and also had an impact with the ball with 11 wickets.

9. ADAM WARD (Huntly-North Epsom): the competition’s leading wicket-taker and instrumental in the five-game winning streak the Power went into the mid-season break on.
Has bagged 26 wickets at an average of just 10 – 21 of which have come in the past five games – while he also has more than 200 runs.
Has the season’s best figures of 8-39 against Eaglehawk last month.

10. ALEX PEARSON (Bendigo): while the Goers have been the season’s disappointment from a team perspective, Pearson is performing solidly with both bat and ball, combining 17 wickets with 261 runs.
Has taken a wicket in every game he has played and is the second ranked bowler behind Ward outside of the competition’s spinners.

11. RHYS IRWIN (White Hills): of the 17 wickets he has taken, 14 have been top-five batsmen. Only Adam Ward with 16 has claimed more top-five wickets.
Has also taken on the extra responsibility of opening the batting in recent rounds.
