
BENDIGO’s under-15 and under-13B teams will play in finals of Northern Rivers Country Week on Thursday.
In Wednesday’s games Bendigo’s under-17 team lost its two Twenty20 matches against competition winners Goulburn Murray.
In game one Bendigo was bowled out for 84 chasing Goulburn Murray’s 6-111.
Bendigo (7-76) also fell short against Goulburn Murray (8-86) in game two.
Game two’s standout performer with the ball was Bendigo’s Luke Stagg (4-7).
• Goulburn Murray scraped passed Bendigo by one wicket in a gripping under-15 game.
Max McMurray’s 47 was the feature of Bendigo’s 133 batting first, but Goulburn Murray mowed down its target with one wicket to spare, answering with 9-135.
Jaidyn Taylor (3-28), Aidan Clemens (3-31) and Bradman Constable (3-23) all took three wickets for Bendigo.
Upper Loddon (9-139) was also victorious against Murray Valley (104) in their under-15 match.
• Goulburn Murray proved far too strong for Bendigo in the under-13A game.
Only Brodie Reaper (41 n.o.) scored in double figures in Bendigo’s 9-91 off 40 overs.
Goulburn Murray took just 24.2 overs to answer with 2-92 to win by eight wickets.
• In the under-13B game, Bendigo won a thriller by five runs against Seymour.
After being sent in Bendigo fought its way from 6-40 to post 93, which just proved enough as Seymour was all out for 88 in reply.
Bendigo’s Tadhg McBurney followed up his 18 with the bat by taking 3-11.
