About 100,000 fans cheered drivers on, as they skidded around the track.
Mr Ansaldi was surprised to take out first place among six cylinder engines in the burnout competition, and place in the top 60 for burn outs against all the V8s.

His Ford XF Ute has been a work in progress for five years, but this was its first big outing.
After success during at Shepparton’s SpringNats, Mr Ansaldi decided to enter the big game in Canberra.
To his surprise, the car performed well among the pool of 3000 entrants.
A boiler maker by trade Mr Ansaldi loves to spend his spare time tinkering. He’s thought about doing it full time, but it’s too much of a hobby to have to do everyday.
“It’s just really good and relaxing building fast cars,” Mr Ansaldi said.
“Cars with big horsepower are a bit exciting. It’s something a bit out of the ordinary and different.”
