The Central Victoria Response Unit yesterday raided a Kangaroo Flat property as a result of an ongoing investigation, during which a 27-year-old man fled the scene.
He was subsequently arrested at an address on the Calder Highway and today appeared in the Bendigo Magistrates’ Court, where he was refused bail.
Thai Muoi was charged in relation to both this week’s arrest and a police operation in Huntly in October last year, in which more than 500 cannabis plants were recovered from two addresses.
Police allege those houses were used for the sole purpose of cultivating cannabis.
Mr Muoi will appear in the County Court in April in relation to charges of trafficking and cultivating a large commercial quantity of cannabis; theft of electricity; possess proceeds of crime; and fraudulent use of identification.
