Thousands of people have visited the Frida Kahlo, Daughters of the Sun and Gothic Beauty exhibitions that are currently on display.
Acting director Gaye Harrington said it has been a very steady flow of visitors.
“Certainly post-Christmas Day onward has seen a steady stream of visitors with many people visiting as relief from the hot weather,” she said.
“We have seen a mix of people visiting friends and relatives and people that have come (to Bendigo) specifically to see an exhibition.”
“But it is also driven by the exhibitions we have on now, which are free.”
On New Year’s Day when many businesses closed, the Bendigo Art Gallery was resolutely open.
“We are open every day through through until Christmas Day (2019),” Ms Harrington said.
The Frida Kahlo, Daughters of the Sun and Gothic Beauty exhibitions are all on at the Bendigo Art Gallery until February 10.
