The event, which takes place each year on New Years Day, is firstly a fundraising activity, with the majority of proceeds going towards the Daylesford and District Hospital, along with some other children’s charities.
The Glenlyon Sports Club president Damian Leonard spoke about the unique day of events, and what people could expect should they come enjoy the day.
“It’s really just a good old fashion family sports day,” he said.
“There’s really something for everyone, young and old."

Two events that are truly unique to the sports day are the World Bull Boar Competition and the World Mineral Water Drinking Competition.
For the uninitiated, the bull boar competition is essentially spicy sausage eat-off, where whoever manages to eat the set amount of sausages in a set amount of time being crowned the world bull board champion.
“Personally, bull boar isn’t my cup of tea, but the event is one of my favourite to watch,” Mr Leonard laughed.
“We’ve got a great commentator who expertly captures what the participants are going through as they stuff their faces.”
Other more novelty events include the ladies gumboot throw – which is exactly what it sounds like and the ladies nail drive competition, where women will try to drive a nail in a few swings as possible.
Some more athletic feats will also take park across the day, such as the wood chopping competition and the highly competitive Glenlyon Cup horse race.
Mr Leonard is expecting over 1000 people to pass through the gates during the event as they hope to better the $16,700 raised in 2018.
“We’re really excited, we’ve gotten fantastic support from businesses in and around the community and we’re confident that we could raise above $17,000.”
The event is being held at Glenlyon Reserve with gates opening at 10.30am.
Admission for adults $10, while children under the age of 12 can enter for free.
The first wood-chop will begin at 12pm.
