Hargreaves claimed his first hat-trick last Saturday morning in the Jets’ big win over Bendigo at Tannery Lane.
Spread over two overs, Hargreaves’ hat-trick featured the dismissals of Bendigo’s Clinton Lawton (caught Zoltan Smyth in gully), Dilruk Fernando (bowled) and Elliott Diamond (lbw) as part of figures of 4-9 off five overs as the Goers were routed for just 43.
The previous week the 37-year-old dominated with the bat, smashing 106 off just 60 balls with 12 boundaries and three sixes in the Jets’ massive 6-357 against Sandhurst at the QEO.
However, Hargreaves has also experienced recently just how fickle the game of cricket can be, having also been run out for a diamond duck against Bendigo United in his innings prior to his century.
