Hickman’s plan for the race was to treat it as a last minute practice session before the start of the World Series Sprintcars season.
In the first heat Hickman started from P1 and finished in first position.
In the second heat he started from P10 and swiftly weaved his way through the pack of all star drivers to finish in fourth position.
In the pole shootout he impressed with a time of 12.120 seconds to secure top position for the A main race.
Hickman confidently drove his heart out to finish the A main race in fourth position after a strong performance where he completed the full 35 laps from the green light to checkered flag.
“I had started on pole before a couple times, it can be challenging as you don’t get to chase anyone as you are leading the group,” Hickman said.
“Very happy to get away with another finish, especially in a field with several great drivers.
“It was a great battle for the top 5 positions.”
Hickman will now focus on the season opener of World Series Sprintcars which starts on Boxing Day evening at Murray Bridge Speedway.
“I’ve only raced at Murray Bridge once and I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel there again,” he said.
