NEXT year’s North Central league senior football and A Grade netball grand final rematches will be both played in the opening two rounds of the season.
The 2019 season will get under way on Saturday, April 6, with the opening round to feature Donald hosting Wycheproof-Narraport in a clash of the two teams that contested this year’s A Grade netball grand final, which the Demons won 54-29 to cap an undefeated year.
Other games in the first round of the season are: Charlton v Birchip-Watchem, Boort v St Arnaud and Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers v Wedderburn.
Round two the following week will be highlighted by the senior football grand final rematch between Wycheproof-Narraport and Birchip-Watchem.

The Demons have defeated the Bulls in the past two grand finals, including by 34 points this year.
North Central’s grand final day on September 14 will clash again with another AFL Central Victoria competition’s showcase day – this time Heathcote District.
Clubs will have four weekends off throughout the course of the season.

There will be no play on Easter Saturday, May 18 for inter-league v Central Highlands, a Queen’s Birthday weekend general bye on June 8, plus round 11 will be split over July 6 and July 13.
Each team will play two opponents three times under the 16 round format:
Birchip-Watchem – Charlton and Wycheproof-Narraport.
Boort – St Arnaud and Wedderburn.
Charlton – Birchip-Watchem and Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers.
Donald – Wycheproof-Narraport and St Arnaud.
Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers – Wedderburn and Charlton.
St Arnaud – Boort and Donald.
Wedderburn – Sea Lake Nandaly Tigers and Boort.
Wycheproof-Narraport – Donald and Birchip-Watchem.
The Feeny Medal is scheduled to be held at Charlton in the week leading up to the second-semi final on Wednesday, August 28.
North Central is the last of the AFL Central Victoria fixtures to be released.
