Livia Rosaia and Indiana Crone dominated the water winning the Female D Grade double scull and came second in the Female under-17 double scull final.
They also excelled in the singles events with Rosaia winning Saturday’s HRC regatta with a time of 4 minutes and 9 seconds and Crone repeated the winning performance on Sunday at the Nestle regatta with a time of 4 minutes and 20 seconds.
BRC head coach Tess Forest said the results reflected the strong work ethic of the duo.
“Livia and Indiana work hard on their rowing and training virtually every second day,” Forest said.
“They know the sacrifice needed to succeed in this difficult sport.
“Their race results reflect their person commitments to each other and the club.”
Wilson Robertson came second in the Male under-15 single scull event and then teamed up with Bailey Dalton for the Male D Grade double scull, where the pair fought for a hard earned second place.
Fellow Bendigo Rowing Club members Mikhayla Oxley, Pip Robertson and Amy Morgan also had strong performances on the weekend and are tipped to be in contention for medals at future regattas.
The strong performances came on the back of a two-day intensive skills camp the athletes attended held by Olympic sculler Hannah Every-Hall on the Yarra River.
BRC president Jesse Sherwood said the recently held skills camp ensured the rowers reached their ultimate level while competing at Lake Hamilton.
“Hannah and her team of coaches provided our athletes with great insight into technique and advice on pre-race preparation that helped improve our race strategies,” Sherwood said.
“She is a great role model for our young athletes.”
