Youth Live4Life won the Improving Mental Health category of the 2018 VicHealth Awards.
The Live4Life model was established in Macedon Ranges Shire in 2009 in response to a reported increase in depression, anxiety, self-harm and suicide, and has now expanded to Glenelg and Benalla shires.

The initiative promotes a whole-of-community approach to mental health education and suicide prevention. Macedon Ranges mayor Janet Pearce said the initiative built resilience and that was “incredibly powerful”.

It is delivered yearly in partnership with the five Macedon Ranges secondary schools and four local community organisations, with the council the lead organisation.
