Coliban Water advised customers that the water plant will take raw water from the Caledonia Reservoir rather than Lake Eppalock.
The change has been made to maximise the use of the water currently stored in Caledonia Reservoir.
Coliban Water executive general manager of water quality David Sheehan said the change in supply had been planned for and should be implemented smoothly.
He said customers were unlikely to notice a change in the taste or odour of the water.
“We have tested the water from Calendonia Reservoir and we are constantly monitoring the supply and adjusting our treatment processes where needed,” Mr Sheehan said.
All drinking water is treated to a standard that meets the requirements of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines and Victoria’s Safe Drinking Water Act.
If customers have any issues with water quality they can contact our Coliban Water on 1300 363 200 or email coliban@coliban.com.au
