For 15 years, she has been running the centre’s craft group.
Mercy Health Bethlehem lifestyle coordinator Kylie Paxton said the craft group wouldn’t run without Ms Bewsell.
“She’s just amazing,” she said.
In addition to the craft group, Ms Bewsell is involved in bringing music into Mercy Health Bethlehem.
She’s involved in sing-alongs and plays an integral role in bringing together the centre’s Christmas carols concert, which will this year take place on December 20.
Ms Paxton said Ms Bewsell was a personal care assistant before she became a volunteer.
“She’s an absolute asset to us,” she said.
Last week, the centre celebrated International Volunteers Day by recognising the contributions of those within its community.
Ms Paxton said Ms Bewsell and the centre’s other long-serving volunteers got special mentions.
