POLICE are calling for any witnesses to come forward as they track down the apparent driver of a car that crashed near Elphinstone in the early hours of this morning.

A white Holden Commodore ute has been towed from the southbound lane of the Calder Freeway after colliding with a safety barrier at about 3am.
Senior Constable Donna Campbell said Kyneton police have spoken to someone they understand could be the passenger but have no information on the identity of the driver.
“We want to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the collision or two people at the crash site,” she said.
