Don’t lock up the forests
The letter is self-explanatory, and I, and all members of the Prospectors and Miners Association Of Victoria ask you for your support in this matter, which we see as a threat to our entitlement to use the Victorian State Forests for all kinds of recreational activities.

If our state forests are locked up, and the citizens of Victoria are locked out, we will be denied the freedom we have enjoyed for generations, and the so called “greens” will claim another “victory” in their quest to change our way of living.

Politics: anybody staying?
The next election is between you and me Bill. Eh, sorry, what about us Scotty? Oh that’s right, we don’t exist in the LNP's thoughts anymore. The Liberal version of Lake Burley Griffin has seen one bank collapse, Julia, resulting in unpleasant vitriol flowing through the LNP party room. Now another in the name of Australia’s most well known bushranger Ned Kelly, Craig that is, could defect as well.
The way things are going Prime Minister, you will have no choice but to fight Bill on your own, you may be the only one “left”, of the “right”. Your Government has wanted the Parliamentary term to be expanded to four years – on present form, you don’t deserve four weeks. Something tells me the LNP are in for a good old Australian “shirt front” right down the centre come next May.

Lives ‘needlessly’ lost
After watching the Government’s vitriolic attack yesterday, not only on the Opposition and the Crossbench, but on Australian doctors, this morning I read …
A 28-year old Iraqi refugee is dying in the Pacific International Hospital in Port Moresby. Hospital staff have watched him deteriorate for the last 20 days since he was admitted. They can no longer access veins in his emaciated arms to provide intravenous treatment. He is not able to speak and is unresponsive.

While our Prime Minister, the “Honourable” Scott Morrison plays his political games, this young man is dying because the government did not, and will not, accept doctors’ recommendations. Already 12 innocent lives have been needlessly lost on Manus and Nauru. These were people who simply came asking Australia for safety. The Coalition’s stalling tactics on the final sitting day of Parliament was utterly disgraceful. And the Prime Minister's behaviour yesterday was definitely not “honourable”. Australians need to call this out – loud and clear. This is UN-Australian.

Thank you for the support
I write to thank the many people who voted for me at the State Election held on 24th November to again be the Labor member for Bendigo East. I am humbled by the large level of support. I will continue to work hard for the electorate of Bendigo East, at home in Central Victoria, as well as in Parliament and the Government. We have done so much together, but there is so much more to do. Bendigo has changed so much since I was first elected 19 years ago with a positive and pro-active program for our wonderful city and region. The Andrews Government gets things done, and I look forward to working with the region as we continue, together, to get things done!
Jacinta Allan MP, Member for Bendigo East
