Victoria Country fell 23 runs short in a big run chase against Queensland at the under-19 national cricket championships in Adelaide.
Chasing Queensland’s imposing total of 9-290, Victoria Country was bowled out for 267 in the 49th over.
Bendigo’s James Ryan and James Vlaeminck made 17 and three respectively, while Moama’s Todd Murphy made eight.
Earlier in the day, Ryan took three wickets with his leg-spinners.
The 18-year-old has seven wickets in three games to be Victoria Country’s most successful spinner.
Murphy finished with 0-33 off nine overs.
Victoria Country has a 1-2 record after three games and plays Western Australia in round four on Friday.
