These restrictions come into force when the temperature hits 36 degrees, because the steel tracks expand.
Trains slow down from up to 160km/h to 90km/h or less.
V/Line passengers are advised there may be delays or replacement coaches when such restrictions are in place.
Aside from a 15-minute delay to the 1.20pm Southern Cross to Eaglehawk service, and a change of origin from Eaglehawk to Bendigo for the 3.50pm Eaglehawk to Southern Cross Service, V/Line has reported no other specific disruptions.
Half-hourly observations from the Bureau of Meteorology showed the mercury reached 35.6 degrees in Bendigo at 3pm.
