The Collingwood Magpies will play reigning premiers West Coast Fever in Bendigo during round five at the Bendigo Stadium.
Bendigo Stadium general manager of sport Ben Harvey said it was an exciting event to be held in central Victoria.
“The beauty of it is we have a world-class venue and we’re so excited to know Bendigo Stadium is being recognised nationally and internationally as a sporting facility,” Harvey said.
“Netball is a big sport in Australia but regionally in Victoria it’s massive and this will be a good opportunity to see netball stars on the court at the Bendigo stadium.
“We’re very proud to be hosting the match and hopefully there are many more to come.”
Suncorp Super Netball is the premier league in Australia and includes teams from across the country with many athletes who have competed nationally
Former Fever player Nat Medhurst switched sides for the 2019 season to the Magpies, so there is sure to be plenty of action on the court when they face-off at the Bendigo Stadium for the Round 5 clash on Saturday May 25.
Launceston in Tasmania is another regional city that will host a Suncorp Super Netball match in the 2019 season when the Magpies play the NSW Swifts at the Silverdome during round 13.
The season commences on April 26 when the Vixens play the Firebirds in Melbourne.
