The outage lasted for less than 40 minutes and was caused by metallic insulation from a building site blowing onto the power lines at the intersection of Lockwood Road, Olympic Parade and Helm Street.
EARLIER: A POWER outage is affecting traffic lights at a busy intersection in Kangaroo Flat.
Lights at the intersection of High Street and Lockwood Road are out, with Powercor reporting an outage affecting more than 4000 customers in the suburb and its surrounds.
About 2776 Powercor customers in Kangaroo Flat are experiencing outages, as well as 1585 customers in Golden Square.
Properties in Marong, Lockwood, Maiden Gully, Myers Flat, and Leichardt are also affected.
Firefighters were called to the intersection of Lockwood Road, Olympic Parade and Helm Street shortly after 2pm in relation to a power pole fire outside a construction site.
The fire was under control by 2.14pm.
Firefighters remain on site.
