Rotary Club of Bendigo members and volunteers gathered at The Bendigo Club last week to collate donations for about 101 pre-loved bags.
The ‘It’s in the bag’ campaign is Australian women’s charity Share the Dignity’s Christmas campaign.
Participants are encouraged to donate handbags they no longer use, which are in good condition, and to fill them with essentials such as feminine hygiene products, toiletries, and other items that would make them feel special.

A Share the Dignity representative then collects the bags from a designated drop-off point and arrange their distribution to Bendigo women in need.
Kim Lowe, of the Rotary Club of Bendigo, said the initiative had been well supported by partner organisations and community members this year.
She said the club had been supporting the initiative for about five years.
