Outdoor swimming pools in Castlemaine, Newstead, Harcourt and Maldon will open from Saturday, December 1.
Each pool has activities such as family fun sessions, barbecue nights, aqua aerobics, boot camp and learn to swim programs.
Mount Alexander Shire Council’s manager of community places and spaces Ben Grounds said the pools were a great place to spend time with family and friends.
“With the weather warming up, local pools are a popular destination,” he said.
Qualified lifeguards work at each pool to provide safe supervision.
“We’re looking forward to another safe and fun summer at our four outdoor pools,” Mr Grounds said.
“Patrons may (also) see some changes in the kiosk options, with a greater selection of healthier choices,” said Mr Grounds.
“We heard loud and clear from the community that they would like a better range of food options, and we have listened.”
The pool season will continue through until Labour Day on March 11. Pools will be closed on Christmas Day and on Code Red days.
