Two youth theatre productions have been nominated for a slew of awards in the junior section of the Musical Theatre Guild of Victoria Awards.

Girton Grammar School’s Peter Pan secured seven nominations including production of the year, best director (Nicholas Pease), best musical director (Steve Vine), best choreography (Kaddison Kearin), design award (costumes and settings), best junior female in a leading role (Lucy Mills as Peter Pan) and best junior female in a supporting role (Alicia McGovern as Captain Hook).
The school will also receive an award of excellence while Georgia McMillan will receive a commendation for her role as Wendy.
Bendigo Theatre Company’s Tribe Youth Theatre received three nominations following their production of Grease.
Young actors Cedar Rose-Russell and Kody Austin were nominated for their supporting roles as Rizzo and Kenickie while Vanessa Bate has been nominated for best choreography.
The awards will be presented at Bunjil Place, Narre Warren, on December 8.
