Naomi was awarded for her contributions as a volunteer at the Kyabram Parkland Golf Club (Campaspe Shire), a place which is close to her heart after being involved with the club for more than 30 years.
“It’s very exciting to be named as the Administrator of the Year for 2018,” Naomi said.
Naomi was humble with her recognition for her contributions to golf, but being named as the recipient of the award wasn’t something she had ever expected.
Because she does it purely for the passion.
“It’s in my blood,” Naomi laughed.
“Volunteering is great, it’s good for the mind and it keeps me busy.
“It helps out the community and ensures local sport continues to operate in the future.”
Her roles include managing numerous committees, assisting members with handicaps, in addition to her chairperson duties on the Victorian Par 3 Committee.
Naomi takes great pride in her work and some of her highlights include increasing participation in golf, assisting with golf tournaments and coaching junior players.
“I love helping people get involved with sport so they can have a go,” Naomi said.
“Watching children blossom in sport and to see the smiles on their faces after they hit a good shot on the course, that’s what it’s all about.”
Naomi runs numerous junior programs at the club including MyGOLF, with Kyabram being recognised as one of the top 5 operators of the national program.
