A truck was traveling along the road when it blew a tyre, which cause a fuel tank to puncture, the CFA Axedale Brigade’s first lieutenant Mark Shedden said.
Approximately 200 litres of fuel leaked onto the eastbound lane towards Heathcote.
Sand will soon be laid down to soak up the fuel.
The incident has been marked under control by the CFA.

No roads are blocked following the incident.

Three CFA tankers and a command vehicle is on scene, with police and VicRoads called to attend, a CFA spokesperson says.

CFA crews are responding to reports of a diesel fuel spill on the McIvor Highway in Axedale.
The EmergencyVic app is reporting the spill at the intersection of McIvor Highway and the Axedale – Tooleen Road.
