The Bendigo golfer fired a six-under par 66 – the equal-best round of the day – to catapult himself up the leaderboard.
Martin had eight birdies and two bogeys on day four and finished the tournament in a tie for 45th at one-over par.
The low score in the final round at The Lakes will give him confidence ahead of his return to the Asian Tour where he is fighting to keep his card for 2019.
Meanwhile, Lucas Herbert’s outstanding rookie season on the European Tour came to a close on Sunday night (AEDT).
Herbert shot an even-par 72 on day four of the Tour Championship in Duabi to be tied for 49th.
The result means the 22-year-old ended the season inside the top 50 on the Race To Dubai rankings with earnings of around $1,400,000 (AUD).
He’ll return to Australia to compete in the Australian PGA Championship on the Gold Coast from November 29-December 2.
