Vlaeminck became the 51st player to represent the Australian women’s T20 team in the final preliminary round match of the World Cup against India in the Caribbean.
The Aussies lost to India by 48 runs, but Bendigo cricket product Vlaeminck snared arguably the catch of the tournament.
The 19-year-old was fielding at square leg when Veda Krishnamurthy attempted a pull shot off spinner Ashleigh Gardner.
The ball went in the air to Vlaeminck’s right, but she lept high like a soccer goalkeeper and grabbed the ball with her right hand.
Earlier, Vlaeminck opened the bowling for the Aussies.
In an innings where India posted a formidable 8-167 off 20 overs, Vlaeminck finished with the respectable figures of 0-9 off two overs.
In reply, the Aussies were dismissed for 119, with Vlaemick the final batter out for a duck.
Star opening batter Alyssa Healy didn’t bat after a collision in the field with team-mate Megan Schutt left her concussed and ended her game early.
She faces further tests ahead of Friday’s semi-finals where the Australians will play the winner of Monday morning’s (AEDT) clash between England and the West Indies.
"We'll treat that carefully and monitor that over the next few days. But hopefully she's all right for us come semi-finals time," captain Meg Lanning said of Healy.
"She was down on the bench there towards the ends of the batting innings. She wanted to bat but we were just playing that smart. Hopefully she's good to go."
