Under Mr Meadows' leadership he has been integral to the growth of the club by securing infrastructure developments, increasing junior participation in tennis and building strong ongoing relationships with governance bodies.
Mr Meadows has been announced as the Macedon Ranges Shire finalist for the Sports Focus Administrator of the Year Award for his contribution as a volunteer to the Kyneton & District Tennis Club.
He is also involved with several other local sports clubs in Kyneton. However, tennis is the sport he is most passionate about.
“There is so much social engagement in tennis and it’s a sport that you can play for life,” Mr Meadows said.
“You can play from when you are a young child all the way through to the late years of adulthood, it’s suitable for all ages and abilities.”
Mr Meadows has played tennis since he was young, and once he joined the club after moving to Kyneton he has been involved ever since.
In his current role as president of the club he has strengthened the governance and strategic direction of the club, which has helped secure major facility upgrades and developments.
“I work with a great group of people who continue to grow our social network but also junior participation, we have been fortunate to see that grow too,” he said.
