Its cellar of beer, wine and cider has been recognised as the best in the state with a 2018 Golden Plate Award during a ceremony on the Bellarine Peninsula this week.
Venue manager James Baehnisch said it was a win not only for the Cambrian team but for suppliers, the majority of whom are Victorian.
“For us it’s hard work paying off. It feels really good to be recognised for what is a staple for us,” he said.
Two years ago the Cambrian decided to only stock craft beer in a bid to support independent businesses.
The list of beers, wines and ciders is a constant work in progress shifting depending on the time of year and people’s tastes.
The Cambrian was not the only Bendigo business recognised with a 2018 award.
