Hailing from Spain and a legend of classical and world music, Savall and his quartet will perform exclusively for the Castlemaine State Festival.
It will be one of two Australian performances next years for the master of the Viola da Gamba.
Castlemaine State Festival director Glyn Roberts said he was honoured to welcome Savall to the festival.
“Jordi Savall is one of the most important classical musicians of our time,” Roberts said. “To bring his music and this extraordinary soundtrack to Castlemaine is a coup for the region.
“This performance will become an unforgettable experience as audiences are taken on an adventure through the mesmerising Baroque period, right from their seats here in the Castlemaine Theatre.”
The Castlemaine State Festival is on from March 22 to 31 next year.
