Hopley has been involved with the club since 2006 and coached the A-Reserve team to three consecutive premierships between 2014-2016.
“It’s going to be exciting, it’s a time of the changing of the guard, we’ve got a lot of young players stepping up into senior netball,” Hopley said.
“I’m really looking forward to working with the developing players heading into next year’s season.
“Last year was a really big building year for us with a big turnover of players.”
In the 2018 BFNL season, Hopley’s A-Grade team made the finals, finishing in fifth position in the overall standings.
“Last season I was pleased with how far we went. It was a really challenging year for us, one of the most the Square had experienced in many years,” Hopley said.
“You don’t win premierships overnight in the first year while you are still developing players.
“It’s about getting the girls up and about, and giving them the experience of playing A-grade games.”
Life member and four time premiership player Jody Richards will remain as the club’s A-Reserve coach.
Tess Davies will remain as the club’s B-Reserve coach after leading the team to a grand final appearance in 2017 and finishing in third place overall in 2018.
Melinda Keighran will continue her role as coach of the 17 and under side, after leading the team to the elimination final in 2018.
“It makes the job easier having Richards, Keighran and Davies reappointed to their positions," Hopley said.
“I look forward to continuing the partnership next season.”
Trials for 17 and under will commence tonight at 6pm, with a second session on Thursday, with a third session next week if required.
Trials for senior players will be held on Wednesday night at 6pm, with a second session on Tuesday November 13 and the third session on Thursday November 15.
The club is currently on the look-out for a B-Grade coach, confidential applications and try out enquiries can be sent to gsfcnews@gmail.com.
