Bendigo Kart Club’s Coby Dunlop finished in top position at a state-wide competition held at the weekend.
Dunlop finished first within the KA4 junior heavy class, after around only three years of racing.
“It took about a year to get used to driving and about two years ago I started getting better and better,” Dunlop said.
“My step-dad races cars, that’s how I got into it,” he said. “After I started practicing, I got my licence and could start doing races.”
Fellow Bendigo Kart Club member Simon Phillips finished second within the Vic Combined Masters class.
The final Golden Power Series championship points for all racing classes will be tallied throughout the week, with final winners to be announced soon.
The season-ending Golden Power Series race was hosted by the Eastern Lions Kart Club.
