FIVE divisions of competition featuring 26 teams will be on court this weekend when the annual Bendigo Dragon City Volleyball Tournament is held.
The tournament will be contested at the Bendigo Stadium beginning at 8am Saturday and will culminate when the Honours Division finals are played at 2.30pm on Sunday.
Among the local sides competing in the tournament are the Bendigo Dragons, Golden Square, Crusoe College and Kanyana, while the Bendigo Phantoms have a side entered in both men’s and women’s divisions.
“The tournament is highly regarded within the volleyball community for its smooth operation and quality matches,” Bendigo Volleyball Association president John Sheen said on Friday.
“It gives local players the opportunity to compete against players from all over the state.”
Teams will be vieing for the Bendigo Pottery trophies.
Entry to the tournament is free.
