COMMUNITY EVENTS
BENDIGO BANK FUN RUN
This fun run is the main fundraising event for the Bendigo Hospital and offers running and walking events for all fitness types.
If you’re looking for a challenge, try the 21.1km, 15km, 10km or 5km runs, otherwise you can stroll the Bendigo CBD in the 5km walk.
The family friendly event will have breakfast activities for kids, groups singing and entertaining participants and more.

CAR AND BIKE SHOW AND SHINE
The Inglewood Cars and Bikes Club will host a Show and Shine competition to coincide with the Inglewood Alive Festival.
The day will feature, free kids activities, a town garage sale, market stalls, live music, the Wimmera Axemen’s Association championship wood chop, modified hot saws and more.
There will also be trophies to be won.
Competition entry is $5 and festival entry is free.

BINGO FUNDRAISER
Help out Bendigo’s only drill dance club to raise funds to get to the Australian Championships in April 2019.
E-J's Drill Dance is hosting a bingo fundraiser. Wear your favourite costume and have fun playing bingo.
The event includes lots of prizes for winners, plenty of raffles, lucky door and prizes for best dressed.
$5 entry includes one book and extra books are an additional $2 each. All ages welcome.
Where: North Bendigo Bowls Club, Fenton Street.

MOVIE FUNDRAISER
Raise money for Dreams2Live4 with this fun movie event.
Dreams2Live4 is an organisation that grants wishes to adult patients who suffer from Metastatic Cancer.
Not only is the movie night a great way to fundraise but is also a fun way to make the public aware of the organisation.
The evening features a supper, a raffle with multiple prizes (including $200 in fuel vouchers – donated by APCO, trailer load of firewood, family passes for tours and attractions and more) and of course the movie, First Man, starring Ryan Gosling (rated M).

DANCES
GREATER BENDIGO DANCELAND
Greater Bendigo Danceland are having another themed dance, this time with a focus on Spring Carnival Racing.
Head along dressed in racing attire (optional) and join in the fun.
There will be a supplied high tea supper, novelty events, lucky door and a raffle.

SATURDAY NIGHT DANCE

CUSHION CONCERT
Inspire your child’s love of music at this Cushion Concert.
Each concert offers something different, from classical to experimental music.
Cushion Concerts are a great way for children to experience performances in a family friendly atmosphere.
Children are encouraged to bring a cushion, teddy and a snack.

GUITAR COLLABORATION
The Guitar Collaboration is a group of performers and teachers – Anne Begg, Jenni Heinrich, Ashley Bird and Josh McGuffie – that are all local to the Bendigo area.
The ensemble allows for a variety of configurations including duo, trio or quartet and they have performed as each of these in the past three years.
The program of this performance includes seven duets and three quartets.
The Guitar Collaboration will perform in Kyneton tomorrow and at other locations in the next couple of weeks.

TALKS AND PRESENTATIONS
HOWARD A WILLARD
Howard A Willard has had an interesting journey through life and would like to share his experiences with you.
From being a professional heavyweight boxer to an ex-drunk, Willard has now been called by God to preach the Good News to the poor, to heal the sick and restore sight to the blind.
Willard has been in ministry for over 40 years and in more than 120 countries.

EXHIBITIONS
GROWING UP IN ECHUCA – WHAT KIDS DID FOR FUN
The exhibition “Growing Up in Echuca – What Kids Did for Fun” opened October 28 and is running until the end of February.
The focus of the exhibition is connecting today’s kids to the yesteryears of their parents and grandparents and engaging families with their history.

GOTHIC BEAUTY: VICTORIAN NOTIONS OF LOVE, LOSS AND SPIRITUALITY
Curated by Tansy Curtin and Jessica Bridgfoot (and as a Bendigo Art Gallery exclusive), this exhibition takes a look into early Victorian rituals of mourning, as early as the 1800’s.
The artists featured in the exhibition range from Jane Burton, Bill Henson and Janet Beckhouse just to name a few.
This exhibition draws on works from the gallery's historic collections, as well as loaned pieces and works from contemporary artists.

OPEN GARDEN DISPLAYS

MICA GRANGE
Each spring Mica Grange hosts an open garden and sculpture exhibition.
This year the property, at Sutton Grange, will be open each weekend until Sunday, November 25, including the Monday and Tuesday of the Melbourne Cup long weekend.
The beautiful gardens and vegetable patches, along with garden sculptures, will be on show.
$6 entry with children free.

THE IRIS PLACE
Do you like gardening? Or you’ve been wondering how to grow beautiful irises? Then head along to an iris display.
With over 10 irises that have been hybridised, registered and released, this display is unique and full of colour.
The display also features three new iris’s to share with the world.
